engineering

An optimal product design is the only proper way to start your project. This is because the design determines the functionality and aesthetic value, as well as the cost price of your product. For this reason, our Engineers work closely with our Sales Department. They jointly consider the manufacturability and product design, enabling them to subsequently provide you with the very best advice.

Our Engineers possess a wealth of experience in industrial product design and, naturally, the rubber pad forming process. By also using state-of-the-art simulation software (Autoform®) they are able to reliably mimic the rubber pad forming process during the design phase. They additionally test with great reliability the impact of all kinds of design choices on real-world manufacturability. The aim is an optimal product design and when the final design goes into production: first time right! Our Engineers are also responsible for the design of the rubber pad forming dies and they play a key role in determining an optimal production process. All of this takes place in close cooperation with you.

Design
becomes brilliant

Our Engineers are also responsible for the design of the rubber-forming dies, and they play a key role in determining an optimal production process. This is how a good design becomes a brilliant design – in every respect.

Focus on process optimalization

We always spot opportunities and room for improvement. If at all possible, we make a 10 an 11. At Phoenix 3D Metaal we are continuously working on product and process optimisation.

Mini loader front & side cover

The ultimate example of a customer requirement where Phoenix 3D Metaal creates the optimal form of added value during the creation of a product. . In collaboration with Sherpa and the designer, we agreed to divide the front cover to enable us to work with a single die during production (for both the narrow and wide versions). This obviously had a positive effect on the die costs. In addition, we ensured that the left and right sections were ‘mirror-symmetrical’. The result and advantage: a lower unit price because we can press two products simultaneously, plus the previously mentioned lower die costs.

“In the development process, I could fully focus on the design and Phoenix on the technical feasibility. The result is a product that really fulfils all wishes and requirements.”
