Hose reel for sewer cleaning equipment / high-pressure cleaning hose
Rioned was looking for a new – durable – hose reel model. We decided to adjust the shape of the existing model to improve the absorption of vibrations. We created extra rigidity by adding multiple reinforcement grooves, which made the product easier to press and therefore also more rigid. In addition, we used ordinary steel for longer life instead of the cast steel used for the current model. The new hose reel model was produced at a more competitive price than the old one.
The requirement
Due to the hose pulsing that occurs while the system is in use, cracks form in the hose reel flange over time. This is partly caused by the base material used for the flange. We would like a new hose reel model, which is durable to use.
Our advice
By adjusting the shape of the hose reel, the absorption of vibrations was improved. We have created extra rigidity by adding multiple reinforcement grooves, which has made the product easier to press and therefore also more rigid. In addition, we have used ordinary steel for longer life instead of the cast steel used for the current model.
That makes it less brittle and much more resistant to vibration.
