Wheelchair mudguard

eldink4kids produces wheelchairs for – as our name suggests – children. For the production of the mudguards, we are looking for a partner who can take care of us completely. In addition, there is currently a logistics process that costs time and money but does not represent any added value. On top of this, there is a challenge in reducing the cost price and the fact that we deal with different sizes and versions of mudguards. Finally, we see that you (Phoenix 3D Metaal) have 3D laser cutting technology in house. We are curious whether you can also do something for us in other areas?

A customer requirement – or better yet – requirements, that makes our hearts beat faster. We are happy to help our customers and, if possible, across the board; from assisting in the creation of the design to the finishing of the delivered product. If we look at the specific requirement from Veldink4kids, it is not so much about help with the design. Our added value here is the highest in the production process. We can – for each mudguard size – ‘capture’ the left and right mudguard in a single rubber press die. From the semi-finished product that results after pressing, we can cut out all the different mudguard sizes and versions using our 3D fibre laser. And because we carry out both operations completely in-house, there are no unnecessary logistical costs!

The competitive advantage for Veldink4kids is twofold: by combining the left and right mudguards in a single die, we create a cost advantage in terms of tooling costs and production costs. Because with every ‘pressing’, two parts are created instead of one. In addition, we can cut several versions from the semi-finished product. In addition to this ‘competitive advantage’, we are shortening the supply chain. This means an additional cost advantage and obviously it is also way more sustainable: no unnecessary transport (with the corresponding pollution) and no additional packaging step/costs.
